TAIPEI, Taiwan — Solomon Technology is targeting continued growth in AI-powered vision modules for robotics, expanding applications across manufacturing, wearable devices, and optical imaging systems, according to company leadership.
The company said defect inspection remains the largest application area for its vision module business, highlighting strong demand for automation solutions in industrial environments.
Expanding AI Vision for Robotics Applications
Solomon has modularized its vision software for robots to strengthen its position in the AI vision systems market. The company noted that its vision modules can be integrated into automated equipment and customized to meet client requirements, supporting a wide range of industrial use cases.
Chairman Johnny Chen said these customization capabilities have contributed to revenue growth, emphasizing the importance of automation in performing tasks that are difficult or impractical to complete manually.
Advancing Stability and Real-Time Machine Vision
Solomon has developed technologies designed to stabilize robot vision systems, enabling machines to lock onto targets quickly while in motion without being affected by vibration or changes in angle.
The company also noted ongoing technical challenges in robotics vision, particularly for humanoid robots. These include hardware stability limitations and difficulty reliably identifying objects beyond two meters.
Challenges in Humanoid Robotics Vision Systems
Training humanoid robots requires large datasets and complex parameter tuning, increasing development time in research and development environments. Additional challenges include improving walking balance and extending battery life.
Chen stated that for humanoid robots to be widely deployed in manufacturing, they must achieve greater autonomy, environmental awareness, and reasoning capability. Solomon continues refining its vision modules to extend robotic visual range and improve performance.
Market Outlook for AI Vision in Robotics
As China’s humanoid robot supply chain matures, hardware costs are expected to decrease. Solomon expects continued competition in the robotics sector and plans to focus on software-driven innovation in AI vision systems to maintain competitiveness.
